Since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, Sheffield has stood and worked together to support and protect our loved ones, friends, communities and local neighbourhoods. Its been a challenging and traumatic time for many and whilst we have thankfully seen the positive impact of the vaccine and gradual reopening of our lives and our city, Covid-19 continues to place unprecedented demands on the city’s services, particularly health and social care.
Throughout the pandemic, we’ve worked with the city’s public services, voluntary, community and faith organisations and business to support our communities. But, the City Council now faces a challenge like never before to get to a balanced financial position for the coming year.
In this survey, we are keen to listen to your views on our budget proposals for the year ahead, what you think we should prioritise in our spending commitments and your thoughts on our proposed Council Tax levels.
This budget survey is one part of how we listen what you think about our budget proposals. To make sure we get a full picture of what Sheffielders think, we are also:
We also undertake detailed Equality Impact Assessments (EIAs) on the budget overall and the specific proposals in the budget. EIAs help us to check if any of our proposals have a particular impact on any of our communities in Sheffield and set out any actions we will take to reduce negative impacts.
Our 2022/23 Budget Consultation runs from 16th December 2021 until 17th January 2022.
All of the thoughts and views you provide will inform the final budget proposals which will be considered by Co-operative Executive in February 2022 and then Full Council in March 2022.
