Perinatal and Infant Mental Health

The goal of this project is to gain an understanding of families’ experiences of perinatal mental health services in Sheffield, and the biggest challenges they have faced with gaining the mental health support prior/during pregnancy and after giving birth.

  • 4Louis - 4Louis aim to offer support and help to families, to capture those lasting precious memories of their baby.
  • Aching Arms - Bringing comfort after pregnancy and baby loss.
  • Antenatal Results and Choices - Support and information for parents throughout antenatal testing, especially when a serious abnormality has been diagnosed and a choice has to be made about the termination of the pregnancy.
  • Bliss - For babies born too soon, too small, too sick.  Bliss champions the right for every baby born premature or sick to receive the best care.
  • Child Bereavement UKSupports families and educates professionals both when a baby or child of any age dies or is dying, or when a child is facing bereavement.
  • CRUSE Bereavement Care - Promotes the well-being of bereaved people and to enable anyone bereaved by death to understand their grief and cope with their loss. The organisation provides counselling and support, offers information, advice, education and training services.
  • Daddy’s With Angels This group provides a safe place for male family members to open up following the loss of a child or children.
  • Hope Bereavement Support - A place of safety and inclusion for all mothers who have sadly lost a baby to miscarriage, stillbirth or at any other stage of their child’s life.
  • Miscarriage Association - Information, advice and support for women who have had, or are having a miscarriage.  Local contacts and groups.
  • SANDS - SANDS is the stillbirth and neonatal death charity. We operate throughout the UK, supporting anyone affected by the death of a baby, working to improve the care bereaved parents receive, and promoting research to reduce the loss of babies’ lives.
  • Tommy’s - Funding research into Stillbirth, premature birth and miscarriage, and providing information for parents-to-be.
