Overview
We want libraries to be vibrant, exciting, welcoming and well-used.
Our vision is for libraries to be right at the heart of
Sheffield’s communities.
We want to know about your experience of using libraries in
Sheffield. The results will help shape the future package of
support given to volunteer-run libraries and help develop
future services.
In Sheffield, there are 28 libraries. Sheffield City Council runs
12 (including Central Library) and there are 16 volunteer-run
branches. There are no plans to change this mix.
The existing support package for volunteer-run libraries runs out
in March 2017 and we need to identify a future package that will
help them develop into strong and stable organisations.
Your feedback will help inform recommendations that will be put
to the council’s Cabinet. A decision is expected this autumn.
