Your Views on Tinsley Library

Overview

In February 2014 ‘The Future of Sheffield’s Library Services’ report to Cabinet explained that Sheffield City Council will no longer run a library service in Tinsley when the lease on the building ends in 2016.

This means the current library building will close at the end of February 2016.  After this time there may be an ‘Associate Library’ set up in Tinsley (but not from the same location), and this would be a volunteer run service. Currently there are 15 libraries in Sheffield that are run by volunteers.

Some volunteers have already come forward and said they would like to run a library service in Tinsley. We are working with them and trying to find an alternative building to deliver an Associate library service.
