Have your say on changing services for families with children in Sheffield
We are consulting on proposals to develop children’s centres into family centres to provide services for the whole family with children aged 0-19 or 25 if the child or young person has a disability. To take part please complete a survey before 31 January 2017.

Megvitatjuk azokat a felvetéseket, hogy a gyermekközpontokat családi központokká fejlesszük, amelyek a gyermekek számára 19, a gyermek vagy fiatal fogyatékossága esetén pedig 25 éves korig nyújtanak szolgáltatásokat az egész családnak. Why your views matter
Building on the work undertaken by Children’s Centre Areas in the last 10 years we want to further develop and refocus the range of services families can access so that support is available for the whole family.
Currently, Children’s Centre Area services are only for families with children pre-birth to 5 years old.
We want to rename Children’s Centre Areas to become Family Centre Clusters and widen the age range from pre-birth to 19 years (and to 25 years if the young person has a disability).
There will be a Family Centre hub in each of 7 locality areas.
Services will be delivered through family centre hubs, and through link sites and outreach in the family centre cluster e.g. current children’s centre buildings, libraries, GP surgeries, health clinics, community buildings etc.
What happens next
- We will listen to your views to understand what you need.
- We will use local knowledge and data to tell us how and where Children’s Centre area services are currently used.
- Look at children, young people’s and families’ needs in each locality
- We will need to get approval from Sheffield City Council Cabinet Members.
- We will share the results with you.
