Clean Air Plan – Charging Exemptions Survey

Closed 15 Jan 2021

Opened 25 Nov 2020

Overview

Sheffield is currently in the process of reviewing the proposed clean air zone in light of COVID-19. You can read our statement here, and you can see more information about the proposals for the zone here.

Why we are consulting

This survey is part of our ongoing plans to develop the clean air zone.

We are currently considering a number of types of vehicles that would be exempt from the charge. These exemptions would be applied only in Sheffield and would be in addition to the existing national exemptions that would apply across ALL clean air zones. You can see these national exemptions here.

The exemptions we are currently considering are for:

  • Heritage-type vehicles (over 20 years)
  • Vehicles in pursuit of the work of a travelling showman or travelling event
  • Vehicles operated by organisations with a section 19 or section 22 permit
  • Specialist Vehicles

If you think you operate a vehicle which fall into one of these categories, please take 5-10 minutes to answer the questions in this survey.

Further exemptions may be considered in the future. For more information contact cleanair@sheffield.gov.uk
