Overview

The survey is designed to capture the size, characteristics and standards of living of the
Armed Forces Community (AFC) in South Yorkshire. This survey is part of a larger project
being conducted in partnership with Sheffield, Doncaster, Barnsley and Rotherham councils and York St John University, which has four key parts:
 
1. To identify how many of the AFC are in South Yorkshire
2. To deliver "Understanding Military culture" training to front-line staff in South Yorkshire
3. To assist Council's in South Yorkshire to develop Covenant Action Plans
4. To evaluate both the training and the Council's response to the AFC survey findings
