Private Sector Housing Strategy Survey

Closed 30 Jun 2019

Opened 14 Jun 2019

Overview

The Council are developing a Private Sector Housing Strategy.  The Strategy will cover people who own their homes, and those who rent from a private landlord. Homes rented from the City Council and Housing Associations are not included in the strategy.

We know that the large majority of people in Sheffield don’t live in a new home and are likely to continue living in homes that are several decades old.  In most cases these homes are well managed and maintained and offer an excellent housing choice for Sheffield’s residents but some homes particularly, in the private sector (rented and owner occupied), are in need of investment and effective housing management.

The purpose of the strategy is to therefore set out how the Council and partners will consider developing initiatives and services to improve our existing homes to provide better quality homes for vulnerable residents and tenants living in privately owned or rented homes.

Why We Are Consulting

The purpose of the survey is to gather valuable information and comments from private sector residents to aid in the development the Council’s Private Sector Housing Strategy.

The survey should take no more than 10 minutes to complete. Answer as many questions as possible or leave them blank if they are not applicable to you. All your answers will be treated as confidential, and will be used for information purposes only.
