Overview

Overview

Sheffield City Council’s Parks and Countryside Service are consulting on the long awaited development of the new Spider Park (the current name is very much a work in progress and is yet to be decided) , which will be located on the corner of Rural Lane and Laird Road, between the Riva Project and the Wisewood Leisure Centre (Sheffield, S6)

After gathering local views and opinions in 2013 a concept design of what the park could potentially look like was developed (insert link to plans). We are now revisiting these plans in order to;

  • Understand if this concept design still meets the hopes and aspirations of the local community?

  • Provide an opportunity to contribute your opinions on the changes you feel are required to make Spider Park a high quality greenspace fit for the current community and future generations.

Why we are consulting

The aim of this consultation is to confirm priorities for the site and understand wider local users views & opinions to help build detailed designs for the site improvements that will contribute to delivering a high quality green space for the local community.

N.B. This initial survey is being progressed online only during the current national Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and the resultant social distancing guidance. We will endeavour to undertake further consultation with the local community and local stakeholders when/where possible.

What happens next

By sharing your views and opinions this will help us to analyse common themes and suggestions in order to start drawing up detailed proposals for the changes.
