Overview

An Ulmus procera (commonly known as an English Elm tree) has been identified on Cowley Lane near to the junction of Nether Lane as being dead

Following an assessment carried out by our tree experts a recommendation has been made to remove the tree.

Once removed, we propose to replace the tree with an Ulmus "New Horizon" which is a Dutch Elm Disease resistant Elm cultivar.

This will be planted in the verge opposite 27 Cowley Drive

Why we are consulting

The Sheffield Tree Partnership have developed the draft Sheffield Street Tree Partnership Working Strategy.  This sets out our commitment to explain to local residents the reasons behind decisions to remove trees, and provide the opportunity to challenge these decisions through an open and transparent process.

A copy of the draft strategy is available at: https://www.wildsheffield.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/FINAL-Sheffield-Street-Tree-Partnership-Working-Strategy-July-2020.pdf
