Consultation About Structurally Compromised Tree Outside 17 Ripley Street S6 (our reference 12040937)

Overview

A Sorbus intermedia (commonly known as a Swedish Whitebeam) has been identified outside 17 Ripley Street as having issues with the root plate failing.

An assessment carried out by our tree experts advises that the tree has been found to have a progressively worsening lean and its root system is failing.

The lean has now worsened to a point where the tree is now completely obstructing the footpath.

Once removed, we propose to replace the tree with a Betula pendula (Silver Birhc) tree in the same location as the original tree

Why your views matter

The Sheffield Tree Partnership have developed the draft Sheffield Street Tree Partnership Working Strategy.  This sets out our commitment to explain to local residents the reasons behind decisions to remove trees, and provide the opportunity to challenge these decisions through an open and transparent process.

A copy of the draft strategy is available at: https://www.wildsheffield.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/FINAL-Sheffield-Street-Tree-Partnership-Working-Strategy-July-2020.pdf
