Overview

An  Alnus glutinosa, (commonly known as an Alder tree) has been identified opposite 18-25 Bard Street as dying

An assessment carried out by our tree experts noticed that the tree is in terminal decline and has significant basal decay.

Once removed, we propose to replace the tree with an Ulmus "Rebona" Dutch Elm Disease Resistant Cultivar of the Elm tree in the verge opposite 191 Maltravers Road as the original location is unsuitable for replanting.

Why we are consulting

The Sheffield Tree Partnership have developed the draft Sheffield Street Tree Partnership Working Strategy.  This sets out our commitment to explain to local residents the reasons behind decisions to remove trees, and provide the opportunity to challenge these decisions through an open and transparent process.

A copy of the draft strategy is available at: https://www.wildsheffield.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/FINAL-Sheffield-Street-Tree-Partnership-Working-Strategy-July-2020.pdf
