Overview

Sorbus aucuparia (commonly known as a Rowan tree) has been identified for replacement opposite 3 Ullswater Avenue due to Kretzschmaria decay of the tree at the base making the tree likely to fail.

An assessment carried out by our tree experts advises that due to this Kretzschmaria decay the tree is likley to fail

Further information on Kretzschmaria fungi can be found at:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kretzschmaria_deusta

Once removed, we propose to replace the tree with a Cornus mas (Cornelian Cherry tree) in the same location as the original tree

Why your views matter

The Sheffield Tree Partnership have developed the draft Sheffield Street Tree Partnership Working Strategy.  This sets out our commitment to explain to local residents the reasons behind decisions to remove trees, and provide the opportunity to challenge these decisions through an open and transparent process.

A copy of the draft strategy is available at: https://www.wildsheffield.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/FINAL-Sheffield-Street-Tree-Partnership-Working-Strategy-July-2020.pdf
