Overview

An Acer pseudoplatanus (commonly known as a Sycamore) has been identified outside No.82 Woodstock Road as being in terminal decline.

An assessment carried out by our tree experts noticed that the tree is in terminal decline with bark necrotic around nearly 2/3 stem circumference, sapwood exposed and dead. Ustulina deusta decay fungal at base. Very poor specimen and is unfit for retention on the highway.

Once removed, we propose to replace the tree with an Liquidambar Styraciflua (Sweetgum), which will be planted in the same location outside 82 Woodstock Road.

Why your views matter

The Sheffield Tree Partnership have developed the draft Sheffield Street Tree Partnership Working Strategy.  This sets out our commitment to explain to local residents the reasons behind decisions to remove trees, and provide the opportunity to challenge these decisions through an open and transparent process.

A copy of the draft strategy is available at: https://www.wildsheffield.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/FINAL-Sheffield-Street-Tree-Partnership-Working-Strategy-July-2020.pdf
