Overview

A Prunus kanzan, (commonly known as a Cherry tree) has been identified outside 8 The Grove as dying.

An assessment carried out by our tree experts noticed that the tree has Ganoderma decay of stem base, is very hollow sounding when hammer sounded and the crown is nearly dead.

Once removed, we propose to replace the tree with a Betula albosinensis (Chinese Birch) in the same location as the original tree.

Why your views matter

The Sheffield Tree Partnership have developed the draft Sheffield Street Tree Partnership Working Strategy.  This sets out our commitment to explain to local residents the reasons behind decisions to remove trees, and provide the opportunity to challenge these decisions through an open and transparent process.

A copy of the draft strategy is available at: https://www.wildsheffield.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/FINAL-Sheffield-Street-Tree-Partnership-Working-Strategy-July-2020.pdf
