Feedback expected 16 Dec 2021

100% agreement with fell

100% agreement with replanting location

50/50 split on replant species.

This job was therefore deferred to the Street Tree Partnership given the 50/50 split on replanting species.

General viewpoint is that given the existing makeup of trees on Bannerdale Road, it would be best to continue with the Guttapercha tree proposed, as such works to proceed as planned.

Overview

Sorbus aucuparia(commonly known as a Rowan tree) has been identified outside 71 Banner Cross Road as being dead

An assessment carried out by our tree experts noticed that the tree is dead.

Once removed, we propose to replace the tree with a Eucommia ulmoides (Chinese Rubber Tree), which will be planted in the same location as the original tree

Why your views matter

The Sheffield Tree Partnership have developed the draft Sheffield Street Tree Partnership Working Strategy.  This sets out our commitment to explain to local residents the reasons behind decisions to remove trees, and provide the opportunity to challenge these decisions through an open and transparent process.

A copy of the draft strategy is available at: https://www.wildsheffield.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/FINAL-Sheffield-Street-Tree-Partnership-Working-Strategy-July-2020.pdf
