Results updated 20 Oct 2022

We received one response to this consultation which agreed with all items except the replacement tree species.  This was discussed at the Sheffield Street Tree Partnership on 14/10/2022 and it was agreed that works would proceed as planned.

Overview

A Prunus avium (commonly known as a Wild cherry tree) has been identified on Beverleys Road outside 14 as dying.

An assessment carried out by our tree experts identified that the tree is dying due to Severe dieback and Ganoderma species, which is causing decay to the base of the tree.

Once removed, we propose to replace the tree with a Eucommia ulmoides (Guttapercha), which will be planted close to the original tree location, in the verge centrally outside 14-16 Beverleys Road, between the two properties.

Why your views matter

The Sheffield Tree Partnership have developed the Sheffield Street Tree Partnership Strategy.  This sets out our commitment to explain to local residents the reasons behind decisions to remove trees, and provide the opportunity to challenge these decisions through an open and transparent process.

A copy of the strategy is available at: https://www.wildsheffield.com/getinvolved/sheffield-street-tree-partnership/street-tree-strategy/
