A Prunus serrulata (commonly known as a Cherry tree) has been identified on Bingham Park Crescent outside number 41 as dying.
An assessment carried out by our tree experts identified that the tree is a very poor specimen, has extensive dieback of the entire crown, and there is no value in retaining it.
Once removed, we propose to replace the tree with a Cornus mas (Cornelian cherry dogwood tree), which will be located centrally in the verge outside 41-43 (same as the previous tree).
The Sheffield Tree Partnership have developed the Sheffield Street Tree Partnership Strategy. This sets out our commitment to explain to local residents the reasons behind decisions to remove trees, and provide the opportunity to challenge these decisions through an open and transparent process.
A copy of the strategy is available at: https://www.wildsheffield.com/getinvolved/sheffield-street-tree-partnership/street-tree-strategy/
