Bingham Park - Tennis Courts Consultation

Closed 17 Sep 2021

Opened 19 Jul 2021

Sheffield City Council are working with Bingham Park Community Group to raise the quality of the play and sports facilities at Bingham Park.

Bingham Park Community Group have been fundraising to revamp the old tennis courts.  It has been agreed that phase one of the project will include basketball and netball facilities on Court 3.

For the next phase of the project, we are continuing our fundraising to refurbish the remaining two courts into:

  • A mini skatepark.
  • Scooter and cycle track

"Our vision is to create an activity space where everyone feels welcome, young and old, local and visitors, family, or groups. We were sure it must be free and open access at all times and create a hub of activity and community togetherness."

If this proposal were to be implemented it would

  • provide a place for people to take part in free physical activities
  • improve people’s health and wellbeing
  • make the area look more welcoming and inviting
  • make good use of a redundant space

We will be working within the tennis court plots and, as such, any developments will be modest in scale

Why your views matter

The aim of this consultation is to understand your views & opinions on the proposals to refurbish the remaining two tennis courts into:
