A Sorbus aucuparia (commonly known as a Rowan tree) has been identified on Blakeney Road outside numbers 55-57 as dying.
An assessment carried out by our tree experts identified that the tree has suffered a major loss of vitality. The majority of crown is now dead and decaying. Also, a worsening lean suggests root decay.
Once removed, we propose to replace this tree with a Cercis siliquastrum (Judas tree), which will be planted outside number 55 Blakeney Road.
The Sheffield Tree Partnership have developed the Sheffield Street Tree Partnership Strategy. This sets out our commitment to explain to local residents the reasons behind decisions to remove trees, and provide the opportunity to challenge these decisions through an open and transparent process.
