Overview

A Sorbus aucuparia (commonly known as a Rowan tree) has been identified for replacement on Borrowdale Road opposite Wasdale Avenue due to being structurally unstable.

An assessment carried out by our tree experts advises that Sapwood Decay is present at the base of the trunk, the tree appears to have failed as a result of this and is now hung up in the adjacent tree.

Once removed, we propose to replace the tree with a Morus Nigra (Black Mulberry tree) on the same street but adjacent to 1 Ullswater Avenue

Why your views matter

The Sheffield Tree Partnership have developed the draft Sheffield Street Tree Partnership Working Strategy.  This sets out our commitment to explain to local residents the reasons behind decisions to remove trees, and provide the opportunity to challenge these decisions through an open and transparent process.

A copy of the draft strategy is available at: https://www.wildsheffield.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/FINAL-Sheffield-Street-Tree-Partnership-Working-Strategy-July-2020.pdf
