There were 2 responses to this consultation

100% agreement with fell
50/50 on replant location
50/50 on replant species

Grounds for objection were concerns over blocking light / visibility and that the new tree would grow too large.

Discussed with Street Tree Partnership

As the replacement tree species meets the strategic objectives of the Street Tree Partnership Strategy and is appropriate to the location, works will proceed as planned

Overview

A Sorbus aucuparia (Rowan Tree) has been identified on Brooklands Avenue at the side of 40 Brooklands Crescent

Note: there are 2 trees here being consulted upon individually - you will need to complete both consultations if you have views on each of the trees.

An assessment carried out by our tree experts advises that the tree is a poor specimen, the base is decayed annd it has low crown vitality

Once removed, we propose to replace the tree with a Zelkova serrata in the same location as the original tree.

Why your views matter

The Sheffield Tree Partnership have developed the Sheffield Street Tree Partnership Working Strategy.  This sets out our commitment to explain to local residents the reasons behind decisions to remove trees, and provide the opportunity to challenge these decisions through an open and transparent process.

A copy of the strategy is available at: https://www.wildsheffield.com/getinvolved/sheffield-street-tree-partnership/street-tree-strategy/
