We initially consulted on BTs proposals to remove the telephone service on Chaucer Road from 21st May to 1 July 2018. A further consultation was then undertaken from 4 July to 3 August 2018 on a ‘First Notification’ draft decision to object to the proposal.
We received 0 comments in the initial consultation and 0 comments on the ‘First Notification’ draft decision.
We have now issued a ‘Final Notification’ which is Sheffield City Council’s decision to object to the proposed removal of the service on Chaucer Road.

BT proposes to remove the payphone (the phone box and the equipment), because the kiosk has recently been damaged beyond economical repair.
BT and the Council have consulted on the proposal. The Council are now consulting on the “First Notification” which is the Council’s draft decision on whether to object or consent to the removal of the payphone equipment.

After considering the comments from this consultation, Sheffield City Council has now sent its Final Decision to the Secretary of State and BT, please see attached the Final Notification for details.
