A Sorbus aria (commonly known as a Whitebeam tree) has been identified on Cruise Road, outside numbers 58-60 as being dead.
An assessment carried out by our tree experts noticed that the tree has basal decay and is dead.
Once removed, we propose to replace the tree with a Cornus mas (Cornelian cherry dogwood tree) which will be located in a new 800mm tree pit outside 58-60 (in the same place as the previous tree).
The Sheffield Tree Partnership have developed the Sheffield Street Tree Partnership Strategy. This sets out our commitment to explain to local residents the reasons behind decisions to remove trees, and provide the opportunity to challenge these decisions through an open and transparent process.
A copy of the strategy is available at: https://www.wildsheffield.com/getinvolved/sheffield-street-tree-partnership/street-tree-strategy/
