A Prunus Kanzan (commonly known as a Cherry tree) has been identified on Cruise Road, at the side of 190 Oakbrook Road (the first tree on Cruise Road) as dying.
An assessment carried out by our tree experts identified that the tree is virtually dead and the base has decayed.
Once removed, we propose to replace the tree with a Cercis siliquastrum (Judas tree) which will be planted in a new 800mm tree pit, at the side of 190 Oakbrook Road, in the same location as the previous tree.
The Sheffield Tree Partnership have developed the Sheffield Street Tree Partnership Strategy. This sets out our commitment to explain to local residents the reasons behind decisions to remove trees, and provide the opportunity to challenge these decisions through an open and transparent process.
A copy of the strategy is available at: https://www.wildsheffield.com/getinvolved/sheffield-street-tree-partnership/street-tree-strategy/
