Overview

A Fraxinus excelsior (commonly known as an Ash tree) has been identified on Foxhall Lane opposite the Steel Field Gate as being affected by Ash Dieback.

An assessment carried out by our tree experts noticed that the tree has Ash dieback and it is believed the tree is in terminal decline.

Once removed, we propose to replace the tree with a Fagus sylvatica (Beech tree).

As the original rural verge is deemed to not be suitable for replanting this will be planted outside 88 Stumperlowe Hall Road to fulfil resident requests for additional tree planting on this street.

Why your views matter

The Sheffield Tree Partnership have developed the draft Sheffield Street Tree Partnership Working Strategy.  This sets out our commitment to explain to local residents the reasons behind decisions to remove trees, and provide the opportunity to challenge these decisions through an open and transparent process.

A copy of the draft strategy is available at: https://www.wildsheffield.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/FINAL-Sheffield-Street-Tree-Partnership-Working-Strategy-July-2020.pdf
