Overview

Overview

We are now seeking comments on The Homelessness Prevention and Rough Sleeping Strategy. This consultation is open to everyone who would like to comment on the plans to prevent homelessness and rough sleeping-whether you are a resident, a business, a community group, a worker or an organisation supporting people in the city.

It is a statutory required for the Local Authority to develop a Homelessness Prevention and Rough Sleeping Strategy every 5 years. The previous strategy was approved in 2017 and a new one is therefore required. The new strategy provides a vision for the city and is accompanied by a draft action plan detailing key delivery actions required to achieve this. Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Timely Targets will be agreed and a performance report will be presented at the Housing and Policy Committee annually.

Please see below for a short presenation of the key themes of the strategy, a draft version of the text, and an appendix on the Homelessness Review.

Why your views matter

Over the last year we have consulted widely with stakeholders and residents to determine what the priorities and content of the strategy should be. We have used this information to develop the draft strategy.

We now need your input on the draft before we take this through our approval process. This is a public consultation that is running for a 2 week period from 9 November to 23 November 2022. You can view our Privacy notice on our website - see the Housing and Neighbourhood section
