Discussed with Street Tree Partnership

As the replacement tree species meets the strategic objectives of the Street Tree Partnership Strategy and is appropriate to the location, works will proceed as planned

Overview

A Malus sylvestris (commonly known as a Crab Apple Tree) has been identified on Huntley Grove outside 1 as being dead

An assessment carried out by our tree experts noticed that the tree had been topped at 2 metres and was of no value in retaining.

Once removed, we propose to replace the tree with a Cornus mas (Cornelian Cherry) in the same location as the original tree.

Why your views matter

The Sheffield Tree Partnership have developed the Sheffield Street Tree Partnership Strategy.  This sets out our commitment to explain to local residents the reasons behind decisions to remove trees, and provide the opportunity to challenge these decisions through an open and transparent process.

A copy of the strategy is available at: https://www.wildsheffield.com/getinvolved/sheffield-street-tree-partnership/street-tree-strategy/
