A Prunus (commonly known as a Cherry Tree) has been identified on Hurlfield Avenue outside 21-23 as dying.
An assessment carried out by our tree experts noticed that the tree had Ganoderma decay fungi at the base and is in declining condition.
Once removed, we propose to replace the tree with a Parrotia persica (Persian Ironwood) in the same location as the original tree.
The Sheffield Tree Partnership have developed the draft Sheffield Street Tree Partnership Working Strategy. This sets out our commitment to explain to local residents the reasons behind decisions to remove trees, and provide the opportunity to challenge these decisions through an open and transparent process.
A copy of the draft strategy is available at: https://www.wildsheffield.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/FINAL-Sheffield-Street-Tree-Partnership-Working-Strategy-July-2020.pdf
