Overview

A Prunus Kanzan (commonly known as a Cherry Tree) has been identified on Kirkdale Crescent at the side of 41 Rotherham Road as dying.

An assessment carried out by our tree experts advises that the tree has numerous significant dead scaffolds and is in poor condition, with the structural integrity of the tree being compromised as a result.

Once removed, we propose to replace the tree with a Hawthorn Tree (Crataegus laevigata 'Paul's Scarlet') in the same location as the original tree.

Why your views matter

The Sheffield Tree Partnership have developed the draft Sheffield Street Tree Partnership Working Strategy.  This sets out our commitment to explain to local residents the reasons behind decisions to remove trees, and provide the opportunity to challenge these decisions through an open and transparent process.

A copy of the draft strategy is available at: https://www.wildsheffield.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/FINAL-Sheffield-Street-Tree-Partnership-Working-Strategy-July-2020.pdf
