Overview

An Ulmus (commonly known as an Elm tree) has been identified near to lamp column 64 on Abbeydale Road South as being dead.

Following an assessment carried out by our tree experts a recommendation has been made to remove the tree as it has died from Dutch Elm disease.

Once removed, we propose to relocate the tree by around 15 metres closer to lamp column 64 to achieve clearance from nearby signs and lights.

Why we are consulting

The Sheffield Tree Partnership have developed the draft Sheffield Street Tree Partnership Working Strategy.  This sets out our commitment to explain to local residents the reasons behind decisions to remove trees, and provide the opportunity to challenge these decisions through an open and transparent process.

A copy of the draft strategy is available at: https://www.wildsheffield.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/FINAL-Sheffield-Street-Tree-Partnership-Working-Strategy-July-2020.pdf
