Parks and Countryside Services have received Public Health Funding to make improvements to sites across the city that will benefit people's health and wellbeing. As part of this Oxley Park has been allocated £100k Public Health Funding to help deliver changes.  The aim of this consultation is to;

  • Gather your views of Oxley Park as it is currently.
  • Understand your health and wellbeing and how the park and its facilities can support this.
  • Provide an opportunity for you to contribute your opinions and views on the changes required to rejuvenate Oxley Park into a high quality greenspace fit for the community and future generations .

Why your views matter

Local residents and the Friends of Oxley Park have come forward and informed us that there is continued community interest in;

  • Upgrading the skate area by creating an accessible 'All Wheels' park (This is an area that can be used by all wheels e.g. skate, scoot and BMX allowing multiple use of the area).
  • Creating a high quality playground for local children.

These two priorities have also been raised in previous consultations conducted by Live Projects 2017 (educational initiative at the University of Sheffield School of Architecture) and locally by the Friends of Oxley Park through community surveys and events.

The aim of this consultation is to confirm priorities for the site and understand wider local users views & opinions to help build detailed designs for the site improvements that will contribute to delivering a high quality green space for the local community.
