Overview

Parkwood Springs is 146 hectares of open space within a mile of Sheffield’s City Centre.  The park is rich in biodiversity and is made up of beautiful ancient woodlands, open heath and grassland, sports pitches and allotments, and a rejuvenated historic cemetery, and offers stunning views across the city. The aim is to support the development and wider usage of Parkwood Springs to form an 'Active Country Park' which connects people and nature together and enables communities to discover the outdoors from their doorstep. The ambition is to make Parkwood Springs a key recreational hub for the local community and the City, supporting people’s physical activity and helping improve mental health and wellbeing. Parkwood Springs will soon have a refreshments kiosk, toilets and community storage, a large network of off-road cycling routes for all abilities, from balance bikers to competition riders.  There will be new running routes, walking routes and bridleways; art works, events and engagement activities, all to establish inclusive outdoor activity for everyone, now and for years to come.

These questions are about the green space called Parkwood Springs, but you may know this space as just Parkwood, heliport or another name. It extends from Shirecliffe Road to the railway tracks and the river Don, Rutland Road to Herries Road, and includes the old ski village and the restored Viridor landfill site.

Why your views matter

To establish a better understanding of Parkwood Springs and how it is used and perceived, we need the opinions and priorities of the local community, park users and other interested parties.  We can then deliver activities and proposals better suited to the needs and interests of the local community.

This questionnaire will take between 10 - 15 minutes to complete.
