100% agreement with fell

100% agreement with replant location

50/50 on replant species

Discussed the replanting species (Alnus x spaethii) with Street Tree Partnership members and it was decided that this was the most appropriate species to meet the strategic outcomes and objectives, so works will proceed as planned.

Overview

A Prunus Kanzan (Cherry Tree) has been identified on Peterborough Road outside 38 as being structurally unstable.

An assessment carried out by our tree experts identified that the base of the tree was decayed, there is Ganoderma sp. decay on north and south of stem, and the stem base is hollow when hammer sounded.

Once removed, we propose to replace the tree with an Alnus x spaethii (Alder tree) in the same location as the original tree.

Why your views matter

The Sheffield Tree Partnership have developed the Sheffield Street Tree Partnership Working Strategy.  This sets out our commitment to explain to local residents the reasons behind decisions to remove trees, and provide the opportunity to challenge these decisions through an open and transparent process.

A copy of the strategy is available at: https://www.wildsheffield.com/getinvolved/sheffield-street-tree-partnership/street-tree-strategy/
