Overview

The Licensing Authority is responsible for the regulation of licensed Private Hire Operators and Private Hire Vehicles.

In administering the regime, the Licensing Authority has a publicly available Private Hire Operator and Vehicle Licence Policy.

The policy will provide:

  • Transparency
  • Accountability
  • Consistency

Why your views matter

The Licensing Authority is seeking views on the Private Hire Operator and Vehicle Licence Policy and welcomes your comments.

We want the policy to:

  • Provide individuals with a clear, consistent basis for submitting applications
  • Provide a clear, consistent basis for determining licence applications

The information you provide is confidential and will be treated in line with UK General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). Data will only be published in aggregated form; we will not publish anything which would allow any individuals to be identified from their responses. We will be holding this data on a secure database.  You can ask to have your details removed from this database by emailing taxilicensing@sheffield.gov.uk

What happens next

The Licensing Authority is committed to consulting with as wide an audience as possible regarding this and any future Licensing Policy or any amendments in accordance with this policy.

All views will be considered and given proper weight.  The policy will be considered and determined by the Licensing Committee.
