A Malus sp (commonly known as a Crab apple tree) has been identified outside 41 Rushley Drive as being structurally compromised.
An inspection by our experts have noted that half of the crown of the tree has been lost in winds during Feb 2022 and the remainder of the tree is unworthy of retention.
Once removed, we propose to replace the tree with a Magnolia kobus (Kobushi magnolia) tree in the verge centrally outside numbers 41-43.
The Sheffield Tree Partnership have developed the draft Sheffield Street Tree Partnership Working Strategy. This sets out our commitment to explain to local residents the reasons behind decisions to remove trees, and provide the opportunity to challenge these decisions through an open and transparent process.
A copy of the draft strategy is available at: https://www.wildsheffield.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/FINAL-Sheffield-Street-Tree-Partnership-Working-Strategy-July-2020.pdf
We will provide a summary of the results of the consultation on this page, and so watch this space.
