Opened 23 Nov 2021

Feedback expected 16 Dec 2021

Results updated 16 Dec 2021

100% agreement with the fell
100% agreement with replant location
100% disagreement with replant species

This job was deferred to the Street Tree Partnership given the 100% objection to replanting species.

In line with requests made in the tree species suggestion box, it was decided that the replanting tree species will be changed to be a Cornelian Cherry Tree and works will proceed on that basis.

Overview

Prunus serrulata (commonly known as a Cherry tree) has been identified outside 63 Wayland Road as being dead.

An assessment carried out by our tree experts noticed that the tree is dead.

Once removed, we propose to replace the tree with a Gleditsia triacanthos (Honey Locust), which will be planted in the same location as the original tree

Why your views matter

The Sheffield Tree Partnership have developed the draft Sheffield Street Tree Partnership Working Strategy.  This sets out our commitment to explain to local residents the reasons behind decisions to remove trees, and provide the opportunity to challenge these decisions through an open and transparent process.

A copy of the draft strategy is available at: https://www.wildsheffield.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/FINAL-Sheffield-Street-Tree-Partnership-Working-Strategy-July-2020.pdf
