Overview

A Betula pendula (commonly known as a Silver Birch Tree) has been identified on Whirlow Park Road on the roundabout, as being dead.

An assessment carried out by our tree experts noticed that the tree was completely dead.

Once removed, we propose to replace the tree with a Davidia involucrata (Pocket handkerchief tree) in the nearby open verge opposite a recently planted birch tree, close to the location of the original tree.

Why your views matter

The Sheffield Tree Partnership have developed the Sheffield Street Tree Partnership Strategy.  This sets out our commitment to explain to local residents the reasons behind decisions to remove trees, and provide the opportunity to challenge these decisions through an open and transparent process.

A copy of the strategy is available at: https://www.wildsheffield.com/getinvolved/sheffield-street-tree-partnership/street-tree-strategy/
